Julian Tsung-Sheng Liu started his financial profession in Bangkok, Thailand as a Securities Analyst from 1996 to 1998. Then, He joined Taiwan’s Polaris Securities Group as Head of Strategic Planning Department and Vice President and COO of International Finance Department from 1999 to 2003. In 2004, Julian was appointed as the President and CEO of Polaris Securities (Hong Kong) Company, responsible for business development in China, HK, South Korea and Thailand. With his previous experience, Julian was named as the President and CEO of Polaris Securities Investment Trust Company (SITC) from 2006 to 2012. During this period, he led the company becoming the largest public funds and ETF company in Taiwan. Following the merger in between Yuanta and Polaris in 2012, he became the President and CEO of Yuanta Securities Investment Trust Company. In addition, Julian has also taken the position of Board Director for China’s CR Yuanta AMC and Commissioner for the recent acquired Indonesia base AMC.
Julian continues to revolutionized the Taiwan ETF industry from 2014~2017 by lobbying with Securities and Futures Bureau and introduced leveraged and Inverse ETF in 2014, gold and oil ETF in 2015, gold and oil leveraged & inverse ETF in 2016 and currency ETF in 2017. In the meantime, Julian also took the role of Chairman for Cross-Strait Asset Management Business Exchange Committee and Director of SITCA (Securities Investment Trust & Consulting Association of The R.O.C.). He won (7 times) awards from Asia Asset Management for CEO of the Year, Taiwan Region (2007~11, 2013~14). Julian also received National Manager Excellence Award – Global Overseas-Chinese General Manager and Golden Goblet Award – Outstanding Entrepreneurial Leadership Award in 2006 and 2008 respectively. Julian completed his bachelor degree from Taiwan’s Tunghai University in 1991 and received his master degree from University of Wisconsin, Whitewater (USA) in 1996. Then he became PhD of Economics from Shanghai University of Finance and Economic in 2009. Currently Julian is Assistant Professor of few regional universities and has written and published more than 30 books.
